Orphans First Prayer Requests, Oct.12th, 2002

Dear Prayer Partners,

       Ther following issues evoke pray & praise.  

CHRISTMAS PROJECT
       Possibilities to help orphans in new countries and locations are 
opening up, creating potential to surpass last year's joyful number when we 
gave gifts to over 5,000 children in several countries.  Those same teams are 
planning to work with us again  this year, and others in other places are 
also joining us to reach the orphans.  Please pray for all the details needed 
to make this possible:  open doors to reach the maximum number of needy 
children, precise administration, rapid communication, financial 
contributions, loving team-members in each location to work with the 
children, free Bible books, other free gifts to cut back expenses etc.
Thus far, these are the locations or countries where we plan to distribute 
gifts in the name of Christ:
Africa (Burkino Faso, Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast, Morocco & maybe Gabon),
Russia & surrounding countries (Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, St.Pete, 
Moscow...),
Europe, primarily Albania, Romania, and France;
India,
USA

TROUBLED YOUTH
INDIA
       I received a sad letter in broken English again this week from an 
orphan boy I love dearly who was in one of our homes and is no longer there.  
He loves God, but is confused and in great need.  Please pray for him, and 
others in similar situations.    He needs the concrete assurance of God's 
love.  Pray God will meet that need through us, or through anyone else He 
sends.

FRANCE
       There are several troubled youth here who are playing with fire, lured 
by Satan into deadly traps.  Some have no fathers, others do.  Pray for a 
MIRACLE for one boy who is clearly under demonic influence.  Pray for 
strongholds to tumble.  
       Living in an area that is 20 - 25 per cent Muslim, obvious political 
elements create further unrest among youths.   Discretion obliges me to 
remain vague, but for those who understand the spiritual warfare behind the 
"Isaac/Ishmael" conflict, please pray particularly for the youth in church, 
and those we help outside, and young Muslims.  Mostly, pray for strongholds 
to be totally broken.

ALBANIA
       I received this letter from Eda, working with the street children with 
our team in Albania.  I wept to read this.  May God give us a HOME for the 
children, a Christian school, more workers, and hundreds of Christmas 
presents.  
       From Eda to Janey:
       "Thanks for your prayers, and your support.  First, I want to thank 
you again for your heart of prayer for the children of Albania.  Here is what 
is happening in Tirana.
       The children work each day form morning till night.  They wash 
cars....  It's been a year that we know them and we have a good friendship 
with some.  Each Saturday we teach them alphabetization.  They love to read 
and write.  What joy when one day they can read the Bible themselves.  They 
know the songs from the children's club.  They are super when they sing 
because their eyes sparkle with joy.
        Jilda, an eleven-year-old girl that is much on my heart, dreams of 
going to school.  Now it is too late as school has already started in 
Albania, but we believe the best for her and so many other children. We pray 
for a Christian school!
       God blesses me in seeing how He works in Jilda's life.  One day, I 
asked her:
       "Jilda, what are you praying for this week?"
       "I didn't pray."
       "But don't you need Jesus to give you the strength to work?"
       "But why ask Him for that?  He's already done it!"
    
        Lushka,  a 22-year-old handicapped girl, who does not seem her age, 
begs each day in front of the Parliament buildings.  Each time I see her, she 
does not stop repeating the same thing: "I pray that the great God will take 
me Home with Him."
       Here are some names of the children I know: Jilda, Genti, Amarildo, 
Besi, Moza, Julia, Dhurata, Rina, Albert, Fardanez, Denis, Rovena, Lushka, 
Sara, Seiti.
       I hope some day to speak more closely with you to know more of your 
experience with the children..........I know how busy you are, but for God 
nothing is impossible.

       WIth that, what more can I say.  May God teach us how to pray, how to 
combat, and how to praise Him for His compassion.  And please pray for this 
need which is related to all the above:
TRIP TO USA NEXT WEEK
       I'll be representing Orphans First in several locations.  Pray for our 
son back home, for those looking after him, and his teacher (Jennifer).  Pray 
for KEY times with KEY contacts to change the destiny of many orphans.  Pray 
for the many meetings, and appointments scheduled for my husband and myself.  
(Pray for his preaching engagements, Washington appointments, and time in our 
Home Church with our daughter etc.).  By His grace, and thanks to your prays, 
we march onward.
