O.F. Prayer Requests 4 Sept., 2002

Dear faithful prayer friends,

        We just celebrated our 20th year in France and have much to thank
God for.  As we saw the numerous different teams represented that have gone
out from our Theological Institute here (founded by my husband), I was
touched to realize that most of them work directly with suffering children.
 All our churches in Africa, as well as our teams in Albania and Romania
work with orphans, street children and poor people. Even our missionaries
sent to Hungary work with delinquent and AIDS children.  And our daughter
churches in France participate by praying or helping support those works,
or by visiting them.  Then as I considered other Orphans First children's
ministries co-laboring with friends and local churches  in various
countries throughout Africa, India, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, France and
even America, I broke to think of you who are there holding this all
together through compassionate prayers.  Thank you.  

        Here are some prayer requests and praise reports:

ADOPTIONS
        All is moving ahead for the final adoptions of Andrei & Lida.  Keep
praying for that, and for Valery, Vincent, Sacha, another Sacha, our three
childen in the Ukraine and others.  Continue bombarding Heaven in plea that
Christians would pursue adoptions, and that God would facilitate the
details involved.

CHRISTMAS PROJECT
        Last year, thanks to prayer and generous donations, we were able to
provide 5, 000 Christmas presents to needy children in many countries. 
This year, our goals are no less.  We'd like to reach many more.  Please
pray for the following:
        ***Teams and co-laborers willing to embrace this project i.e. to
distribute gifts to children on the streets, in state orphanages, in
impoverished homes, and to      provide the Christmas message in an
animated way (in St. Pete, Russia, they perform a play to over 3, 000
orphans in that city and then give the gifts);
        ***Generous financial contributions for the gifts, buses (to
collect the kids to bring them to the play), etc. etc.
        ***For God to ENSURE that the children KEEP the gifts (that no-one
wounds their hearts further by stealing away the gifts),
        ***Covers, bonnets and even shoewear for the children who are cold
in state orphanages or in the streets,
        ***Many more children that we can reach with gifts and God's love;
        ***Good publicity for the Christmas Project and the means to
propagate it (flyers, posters, radio broadcasts etc),
        ***Local church participation, especially in "wealthy" America i.e.
that churches and families would get involved and help the poor.

ADMINISTRATION
        Continue praying for administrative needs as we expand.  Remember,
no-one is paid to work for O.F.   The administrative load is considerable.

TRAVELS & PERSONAL
        As my husband returns for an important meeting with some key
leaders in America mid-October, there is a good chance I'll be joining him
for that.  My going would be highly beneficial for O.F. so please pray for
every provision to come together, especially that our son, Francesco, would
be well taken care of by friends during our absence.  Thank God He brought
Jennifer to tutor him and she is nothing short of angelic.  The story
behind her coming is long, but let me just say this with tears in my eyes
and a deep conviction in my heart:  I firmly believe she was sent by God in
answer to YOUR prayers.  If she'd not come at this time, we would have had
no provision for our husband's schooling.  Pray God meets all of Jennifer's
needs and desires.  
        Finally, our daughter is doing great, thanks again to your covering
of prayers.  Many may not realize but her internship in Washington is
DIRECTLY linked with working for orphans.  Congressman Smith is a strategic
figure in working to facilitate adoptions, prevent abortions, find lost
children, help impoverished and hungry children etc.  It is not "chance"
that placed Rachèle in that office.  It is God.  She's also doing Bible
school and working with children and we're thrilled to see her growth. 
Thanks for praying for God to meet her every need.  She shares my heart for
the poor children.  

O.F. ORPHANAGES
        Continue praying for our orphanages in India, Africa (we now have a
new orphanage in Ghana soliciting our help), the future orphanage in
Russia, and some new projects I cannot disclose at this time.
