O.F. Prayer Requests June 5, 2001
Thanks so much, all you praying friends, for praying for my trip.
I missed a few planes but I got there in the end, and have been back a
week. The trip was fruitful in establishing a firmer foundation for the
future of Orphans First, but please continue praying for details so that we
can reach many, many more hurting children.
Time in Washington was also fruitful, and I heard about the
alarming increase in traffic of children throughout the world. Pray for
this issue, and for the governments to find a solution, and for Christians
and churches to do their part in reaching the children.
INDIA
I'm thrilled to tell you that there is now a Girl's Home in Bombay
with seven little girls, and more boys in our Boy's Home, including two of
the boys you've been praying for, Mukesh and Kissan. Pankaj, who has been
on the streets since he was five, is still not in the home because he still
has TB. Pray for his healing, and pray for other children still in the
streets.
Our home in Guntur is well, but one of our older boys, Nanibabu,
chose to leave the home to work with his brother. He one of our "sons" and
had many problems, including academic difficulties. This news is sad.
Pray he would continue with Christ. Please begin praying now for our
upcoming trip to India this Fall.
ELSEWHERE
Prayer requests regarding Russia, and Africa remain the same.
Concerning our children in Odessa, Ukraine, pray for their future as the
Polish couple taking care of them seek to adopt them and have now returned
to Poland. Pray for this adoption to work out.
FRANCE
The law regarding "mental manipulation" was voted and placing
evangelicals and other Christian groups in an even more precarious
situation. Some Catholics and Protestants are now reacting, recognizing
the danger of such a law, but frankly they're a little late. The law is a
done deal. Pray for our future, and our protection, as we continue seeking
to glorify God and lead people to Him.
On Saturday, we were stopped by police for evangelizing in the
streets because we were a disruption to the gay parade. The parade was
like Soddom and Gomorrah, total debauchery. There was a banner speaking of
the ecumenical church for gays. The saddest thing of all was to see the
many young people parading, particularly boys. Their participation is
undoubtedly a reflection of a society where an absence of fatherly
affection causes unhealthy cravings and instability. Pray.
Pray also for the plight of the many, many abused and neglected
children here. And pray for the needy children throughout the world.
PERSONAL
Please pray for our children. Our daughter and other children in
our church are taking their Baccalaureat exams throughout June. These
exams are gruelling. Few pass them. Pray our children pass. Our daughter
Rachèle, would like to go to Bible School to prepare to be a missionary
after.
Forever grateful to you in the fight for the children,
Janey L. DeMeo
