July 26th, 02 Orphans First Prayer Requests
ADOPTIONS
Good News - Praise God I've hard little Russian Valery has a home.
Will let you know more as I find out details. Hallelujah!
Ukraine - The family of four orphans we support in Odessa could
soon be re-united under "adoptive" parents once and for all. Pray for the
needed finances and paper work to make this happen quickly.
Bad News - Many Romanian orphans scheduled to come to the USA this
summer to meet potential adoptive parents were denied a visa. This has
caused heartache to the children and the potential parents. As I look into
this matter more closely, I'll keep you informed as to how you can help.
Meanwhile, please pray for this.
Street children in FRANCE
Last Saturday, my heart was struck by a boy begging on the streets
of Montpellier. He had punk hair, grungy clothes, and hardened features
that made him look old. I gave him a tract, and he replied that he was an
atheist and would not read it. But just minutes later, he read the whole
tract. Surprised, two of us went back to him. I knelt down and looked
into his pained blue eyes and hid tears behind my sunglasses. His gestures
were those of a young boy. I knew he was just a little boy deep inside.
And as we shared Christ, I saw so much pain in his eyes. I knew he'd
suffered and been rejected, and was not surprised to learn Emilien was an
orphan, 21 years old, and had lived on the streets for 5 years. As we kept
sharing the love of God, he exclaimed how hard it was to think of love.
No-one had ever loved him. By now, even the sunglasses could not hide the
tears flowing in identification for this boy.
Returning home in the car, I was so broken to think of this boy.
The others I was with had arranged to meet him that evening and buy him a
meal. I had a meeting with another young person, so would not be going.
But I couldn't stop thinking of him. I wanted to send a present with the
others for him from me. So, I found a new T-shirt, some levi pants (his
size) and flip-flops, and two small Bible booklets. I learned later that
Emilien wept when he received these, and he sent me a note to thank me. We
plan on seeing him again this weekend. Please pray for him and the
abandoned children and youth everywhere. It does not matter what country,
the children are in such need for love.
India, Africa, Europe
No updates since last prayer requests so just keep praying as
before (growth, workers, finances, more orphanages etc.). Oh, my husband
just returned from a successful trip to Africa and we do have specific
plans for expansion with orphan's works within our francophone ministries.
(Pray for this).
Personal URGENT need
We still have no solution for our almost 15-year-old son's
schooling this fall (9th grade). The only idea that would make sense would
be for a qualified American to come over and help "homeschool" Francesco
using American curriculum. So far, we have no one. Please pray for this.
This is not only a major concern but could have repercussions on my
husband's ministry and my work with Orphans First.
Thanks for holding up the needs of the children to the heart of our Father,
