Orphans First Prayer Requests July 12th, 2002
Dear Prayer Partners,
HOME
We're all now back home after a successful trip, THANKS TO YOUR
PRAYERS. The Mission's Conference in Baltimore was wonderful, and much
interest was raised for suffering children as people visited the O.F.
booth. I met with different people working in various third-world
countries ranging from Russia to Haiti, and this will hopefully be a speedy
catalyst to works springing up for orphans and street children in these
locations. Pray for this.
We also got our daughter partly set up for her final move to
Baltimore in August. Keep her in prayer as she will need a car and other
things and twenty years on the mission-field has not allowed us the luxury
of savings to help her.
ADOPTIONS
I also met with the "adopting" parents of Andrei and Lida. Things
are moving slowly but surely. Oh, it's quite a story. I don't want to
tell you all the amazing things God's done until the adoption is
effectuated, but God is moving. Until then, keep praying for this
adoption. Meanwhile, Viktor is temporarily back with his biological
mother, not in the orphanage where he may have been being abused. Thus, he
is still not with his USA family. This still needs prayer. No news on
Valery or any other children.
PERSONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE
Another answer to prayer is that I have a new PC, a notebook, a
gift given by some precious praying saints, Carol, Marylinn and Lorraine.
I cannot tell you what a great gift this is and how much this will help my
work. This is because of prayer, and because of such kindness shown by the
saints of God. I can never express enough how grateful I am to those of
you who hold me up in prayer and for this gift from Carol and family.
Thank you.
URGENT PRAYER NEEDED. At present, we have no provision for our 14
year old's scolarity for September (for 9th grade). The ideal solution
would be an American who could come here as a missionary and help us home
school Francesco with an American program. This needs much prayer. If
we do not have someone, we have no other options that we can think of as
yet.
INDIA
There are still many of the precious children we originally worked
with in Bombay back on the streets, even though some were in the home for a
time. I don't understand all the reasons behind this (I'm not there), but
prayer is our only weapon at this time. Pray for God to raise up someone
to take those children in and nurture them in every sense of the word.
(O.F. would willingly sponsor that).
In Guntur, however, we're up to 120 children in the home, and all
are doing well.
AFRICA
My husband leaves for Africa next week and he'll be connecting with
the different teams from countries where we have orphan's works.
UKRAINE, RUSSIA & ALBANIA
Nothing new, just keep praying for the adoptions and for a
permanent orphanage for St.Pete.
PERU
A friend who recently returned from Peru where she worked with
street children shared glorious victories of little transformed lives, and
sadly, many tragic stories also. Thousands of children from five years old
upwards live terrified lives, hiding in sewers. Their bodies riddled with
disease, parasites, and malnutrition ache with hunger. Their hearts are
infused with fear from seeing so many of their peers tortured and killed by
police or other cruel adults. Add to this the intense agony of rejection,
and these children live hell on earth.
Let me explain their dilemma further. These children believe that
they are suffering because they are bad, and God doesn't love them. They
are not worthy of love. They've concluded that if we live in comfort, it's
because we're good and God loves us. If you mention the devil to them,
they reply, "We know him. He lives with us in the sewers", expressing the
demonic oppression they sense. And yet God loves them deeply. Satan has
lied to them and we must do all we can to show them God's love. So, what
exactly can we do? Prayer is our principal weapon. Pray for laborers to
reach the children, structure and finances.. The fervent prayer of
compassion works miracles to save little lives.
Forever grateful to your labor of love for the children,
