Orphans First Prayer Requests June 4, 2002
ADOPTIONS
Pray for a 16 year old Russian boy with cerebal palsy, Viktor. now
too old to be actually adopted. His eagerly awaiting parents are waiting
for the release of his medical records from the orphanage director so that
they can pursue bringing him to America to live with them. Even if they
can no longer adopt him, he is their "son" and they've arranged their house
to accomodate his handicap. Pray for the many hurdles in this case, and
for Viktor to quickly join his "adoptive" family.
Valery is still not adopted but I heard he has a chance to spend a
few weeks in the States this summer. Now, pray, pray, pray........ This
is how Artur's adoption began. And continue praying for Andrei & Lida, for
the two Sachas.........for thousands, even millions of children awaiting
adoption. Pray for miracles to happen to enable Christians to adopt. And
pray for us to be fully equipped to help.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Believe it or not, I'm still having computer problems. Pray for
them to be solved so I don't lose precious time (and eventually could lose
data and work)..
RUSSIA, St. Pete
Pray as they are waiting on finances and a few other elements to
buy a property which can begin our orphanage there.
PERSONAL
A family friend has stomach cancer. Pray for him and for my
mother. Pray for our upcoming trip to USA, for all the elements to fall
into place so that we could give, receive so as to further God's Kingdom.
Pray for a mighty success for the O.F. booth at the Mission's Conference in
Baltimore. Pray for our daughter as she'll be there trying to get set up
for her future in America (19 years). Pray for our son (14 years) to be
protected from the "wrong crowd" and ungodly influences.
DIVERSE COUNTRIES & NEEDS
Continue praying for our orphans in India, Africa, Albania,
Morocco, Russia, Ukraine. Pray for expansion. Pray for the street
children (and particularly those we know in Bombay). Pray for abused
children, divorce victim children, war-victim children, sick or hungry
children, abandonned children, orphans, frightened children everywhere,
everywhere, everywhere............... Pray specifically, fervently,
frequently, and praise God He will move on our behalf.
GOVERNMENTS
Pray for governments so that laws allowing pedophiles to go free or
prohibiting Christian education or hindering anything at all to do with the
health of precious children would be changed. Pray for Pres. Bush, and his
government and that their choices have salutary repercussions throughout
the world.
UPDATE
Below is pasted a letter giving a clear update of what has taken
place already this year. Amazing. And this is thanks to you and your
prayers.

Summer 2002
Dear Friend of Orphans First,
Thanks for your interest in Orphans First. Here are some small miracles
we've seen recently-tears turned to joy on little faces.
I always thought it strange that even blind eyes can shed tears. Recently,
the terrible sound of a boy crying echoed daily throughout an
electricity-less village in Burkino Faso, Africa. The sobs thrust from a
dark hut, disturbing the survival routine of the deprived villagers. Cries
of pain, fear, hunger, despair! Cries from a little boy who had been
forced to leave school since losing his sight to meningitis and who spent
his days in a dark hut---alone. Weeping! But our God heard his cry and
rescued him.
Today, this boy is in our new orphanage in Burkino Faso which was begun in
January 2002. His heart is filled with joy, as he attends the new school
we've set up there. Our French team in Morocco, sent out in Fall 2001, has
also already begun a clandestine Bible club for poor children in Morocco
supported by O.F.
In another African village, two small orphans were crying with fear. Their
neighbor who had no means to keep them was SELLING them. But today, thanks
to prayer, these children are in the home of one of our French-speaking
African pastors and Orphans First is supporting them. They are safe,
happy, and loved.
Meanwhile, in India, our orphanage in Guntur is up to about 100 children
and doing well, while the work in Bombay is now financially autonomous, and
no longer in need of our support. (There are however still many street
children needing special prayer there-many of whom I've personally met and
love).
God is also moving in Russia. In St. Petersburg, we simply await funds to
begin the permanent Christian orphanage. Meanwhile, we continue helping
state orphanages and poor children in St.Pete, and Moscow. We also still
sponsor children in the Ukraine and work with orphans and poor children in
Azerbaijan.
Our French team in Albania works regularly with street children with two
Bible clubs and nearly 100 children. Our French team in Romania is also
working with street children, and we hope to develop that work and provide
a more solid structure for it. And, of course, we continue helping needy
children here in France.
Adoption has always been in my prayers and, at last, God has opened doors
for us to be involved in helping Christians adopt by being a supportive
structure and spiritual encouragement to them. The joy of seeing a
12-year-old Russian boy, Artur, be successfully adopted into a Christian
family is indescribable. We are praying through other specific adoptions,
and many of these are in Russia. I pray to see many more of these great
miracles.
On top of the regular financial and spiritual support for all the above
mentioned projects, we cannot overlook our Annual Christmas Project.
Thanks to generous gifts from sponsors, our Christmas Project resulted in
5, 000 orphans in Russia, Baku, Albania, Africa, India and elsewhere
receiving gifts. Those gifts changed small lives. One little boy in Baku
was so excited about his gift, he spoke his first words to the visiting
team, exclaiming, "My car!" Another miracle!
As you browse through the web pages, please pray for more sponsors. If you
know of anyone who may be interested in supporting an orphan or children's
work, or giving a donation, you can E mail me for a brochure. Thank you
for being interested in the plight of the suffering children. Also, please
note that you can subscribe to the Orphans First weekly prayer chain at
