Orphans First Prayer Requests May 22, 2002
Dear Prayer Friends,
What would you do if a fierce warrior stood before you screaming,
"What do you want, long sleeves or short sleeves?" Now listen carefully.
The question actually means this: "Do you want me to ampute your arm just
under your elbow (long sleeves) or just above your elbow (short seleves)?"
Can you imagine the terror. Can we feel the incredible fear beating in the
heart of a child who watches this happen to the person in front of him
screaming with pain?????? No we cannot. We can only pray.
Thanks so much for your consistency in prayer for the suffering
children. Read on for some specific requests.
FRANCE
Please pray for a child who is in a major crisis, even in danger.
Details withheld for discretion
Continue praying for our school next year, especially the High
School.
Pray for the many children victimized by divorce, left scared,
insecure, afraid.
INDIA
The weather in Andra Pradesh, where our largest orphanage is, has
been exruciatingly hot. Many people in that region have died. Continue
praying for God to deliver the children. A testimony from Grace Home: "On
15th anniversaryday May 1st we had very good thanksgiving service. Some of
old students testified that their life has been blessed here. The 10th
grade children completed their final exams 2 of them in first division and
2 in 2nd division." Continue praying for NaniBabu, Bramhon, Gorawaiah, the
boy at the airport, and others like them, enslaved to poverty.
And continue praying for the street children everywhere,
particularly those we know and love so deeply in Bombay. (Names given
before).
RUSSIA
Moscow has been in our prayers for a long time, especially with its
abundance of street children. Pray that a permanent work begins there with
these children. Meanwhile, the GGWO Church there has been solicited
to help with the many orphans and widows devasted since the horrible May
9th bobing in Kaspijsk. (North Caucasus), The terrorists blew up the bomb
during 2nd World War Victory Day Celebration (May 9) parade and hit about
200 people. 37 of them (including 17 children) died on the spot and 5 later
in the hospital. This killing was directed towards Marines specially, their
relatives and kids. Thanks to prayers and sponsors, O.F. has been able to
send a financial contribution to help that work. Pray for the children's
hearts to be healed, and needs met.
SUDAN
Still millions of child-slaves in this one country alone since the
20 year continuing war. So many children have been abducted and enslaved.
Some are actually crucified on crosses according to VOM. We cannot imagine
such horror; Pray.
SIERRA LEONE
Many people, including children, have had their hands or arms (and
sometimes legs) amputed by enemy armies in their endless ethnic war. The
example given at the top of this E mail concerns this war-ridden country of
Africa. Pray for the many hurting children.
AFRICA (throughout)
Pray we can begin more works with children there. Pray for our
orphanage in Burkino Faso.. Pray for the children P. Paul helps in Togo,
those in Ivory Coast, and Ghana also.
The Worldwide Day of Prayer for Children at Risk.
The official day is the first Saturday of June. But people can do
Friday or Sunday or any time that week if it
fits better. The idea is for the WORLD to pray SPECIFICALLY for the
suffering children.

ADOPTIONS
Oh please continue tapping on God's heart for a solution for
Valery, a Christian family. And Andrei, Lida, Sacha, another Sacha, and
for every single child needing a loving parent. Pray for Christian couples
wanting to adopt, that God would make it happen, and fast.
ORPHANS FIRST

next few weeks. Pray for our upcoming travels, for contacts for suffering
children, adoptive parents, finances..........and all the details for our

The Worldwide Day of Prayer for Children at Risk.
Have the day mentioned in the church bulletin the week before, and
also announced in church a few times.
Have informal prayer meetings set up at homes, maybe one in the
church building (O.F.) etc.
Make Sunday School aware of this day and have them participate as
much as they can.
