Orphans First Prayer Requests May 7th, 2002

WORLDWIDE 
        There are more child slaves in the world than ever before.  111
million of them work in such dangerous conditions that they risk their
lives every second they work. For example, children as young as four, get
burned working with fire, or poisoned by toxic substances, or wounded in
war, or just beaten for falling asleep.    In many cases,  wounded children
are left to agonize without help, being seen only as a work commodity
which, once broken, is useless.
(Statistics vaccilate between 250 - 400 million child-slaves, depending on
the definition "slave").   

FRANCE
        Pray for: 7 year old Richard, traumatized by an abusive mother. 
This child cries continually, but concerned authorities have not yet seen
the incessive verbal abuse of the mother (screaming etc.).  The young
sister is also traumatized.
 5 year old Adrien, persecuted at school because of overt physical
weaknesses due to a serious heart disorder.  Adrien will soon undergo
another precarious operation.

        Pray for C**********.  a young boy who has been exposed to hard
porn (live) since he was tiny.  He is a mess.  And yet he loves God and
wants so much to be clean.  Unfortunately, his parents have not ridded
their home of filth, so the boy still lives in an unhealthy environment
keeping him in bondage to wicked thoughts.  Stan knows the grip of
pornography over the mind is more powerful than drugs.  The weaning and
cleaning process is harder than deliverance from any substance abuse.  Porn
creates impulsive, inappropriate behaviour, even endangering the lives of
others.  C********** , a sweet boy wants so much to be involved in church
teen activities, but his "problem"  obligates his isolation to protect
others.  He can only particpate within a controlled environment.  Please
pray for him, and the many children exposed to pornography.  Pray for all
sexually exploited children everywhere.  There are millions.

SCHOOL
        Pray for a miracle so we can actually begin our international
Christian high school this fall for our high schoolers especially.

INDIA
        Continue praying for street children, and Nanibabu........;and the
others previously mentioned.  Pray we will know when to visit India this
year and for God's provision for that, and also that we can find a solution
for the children we worked with in Bombay who are now back in the steets. 
Asia is rampant with child slaves, abuse and exploitation of children, and
devastating poverty.  

AFRICA, RUSSIA, ALBANIA, UKRAINE, etc.  
        Pray for new orphanages, and coverings over the existing works. 
And pray for my husband's upcoming trip to ROMANIA, this weekend.

ADOPTIONS
        One couple spent all their money and much time and energy to adopt
a Vietnamese baby.  The adoption did not take place.  Sometimes adoptions
fall through because of complicated political situations and corruption. 
Please pray for God to redeem this situation and to give this godly couple
an adopted child. May God show us how to help.  
        Continue praying for Andrei and Lida......Oh soon, Jesus, soon. 
The parents that await them are adorable.
        Pray for Valery.  May someone godly pursue his adoption quickly
before his little heart breaks.
        Pray for D*** in America, and other such older children,
desperately wanted to belong to a family.
        Pray specifically for the many children needing to be adopted, and
the many Christians seeking to adopt.  May God coordinate the details.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR CHILDREN AT RISK
        This takes place the first Saturday of June each year, so mark your
calanders for June 1st if possible.  Try to get your church involved,
groups and individuals. (Contact Viva organization for further details -
www.Viva.org).  If Saturday does not suit, choose a day that does as close
as possible to that date.  Please find a way to be involved.

TRIPS/personal
        My family and I hope to make the June Missions Conference in
Baltimore.  Pray for all the provisions to fall in place to make this 
possible.  Pray this time would be fruitful for Missions and Orphans First.
 Orphans First will have its own booth there so pray also for the sweet
friends preparing that.
        Pray for our ever busy schedules.   I'm finishing writing a teen
booklet, and several other writing projects with upcoming deadlines, some
of which could make a real difference for the suffering children.  

        You are all my heros as you pray for the tiniest, most vulnerable
members of the human race, the children,
