Orphans First Prayer Requests April 12th, 2002

Somebody sent me this info. today >On the radio recently I heard
that the Christian children in the Sudan who have been made "slaves" by the
Muslims are
actually "crucified" on a cross when they do not submit as they should to
their owners. < Unfortunately, this is not the first time I heard this.

Cries of fear and loneliness.

Compassion is something we can cultivate through sensitive
imagination. Just imagine what the hurting ones feel. For example, I
recently brought my two tiny kittens downstairs in our house where there's
just one large room. They live in my bedroom where their surroundings are
snug and familiar, sleeping in a box in my closet with their Mom. At first
the kitties wandered around in curiosity, but it didn't take long for them
to feel lost and abandoned. They began crying, each in his own corner, and
looking around the room, lost, and frightened. Of course, I picked them up
and they snugged under my neck and hair and began purring. But how many
children are left in abandoned in scary places, and their mother never ever
returns to them? If you imagine that for just a few minutes, then the
burden to pray for the sufferin children becomes very real.
There are millions of children who are dropped off in cities and
abandoned by parents unable to take care fo them. Imagine Pankaj in
Bombay. He was only five when his parents left him there. Taken in to
slavery twice, he was beaten and suffered badly until we helped him.
And consider again this story in a new light. Young Valery was
eight-years-old when his mom abandonned him in the streets of St.Petersburg
where police found him crying, tormented by fear. Now, Valery lives in an
orphanage where he could be adopted but where he does not work well at
school because he spends his days dreaming of being adopted (like Artur
was). He lives in a dream-world where he imagines the joy of being loved,
warm, and secure. And he cannot concentrate on school because he lives in
his dream. But if Valery is not adopted by June, he will be moved to
another "rougher" orphanage where he will lose almost all chances of being
adopted some day. Imagine the deep pain in Valery's heart. Please PRAY
for him. His pained life is worth the time spent pleading before Heaven's
throne for this little one, so vulnerable, so small, so afraid. (Anyone
who would like more information on Valery please email me directly at
joyceschaller@...)
And then there's Sher, 10, and Baz, 5, in Afghanistan, sold into
slavery so the rest of the family can eat. They are beaten, working hard,
and sleeping out in the cold with the sheep. They are afraid, bearing the
incredible load of now being enslaved for the rest of their existence,
without a family , without hope. There are millions of children like
these, including sex-slaves, child-prostitutes and others. What can we do
for them? Honestly, I think the greatest thing we can do is PRAY. We must
co-labor with our Father to free this little ones. Pray for miracles, for
adoptions, for deliverances, for God to take the children quickly to
Heaven, and of course, pray for Christian laborers to provide homes for
them. Pray for Orphans First and all such organizations helping children.
I know God hears your prayers. There are potential parents already
for Andrei and Lida (just pray all the details come together quickly).
There may be a foster family for D*** (pray). And we saw Artur get
adopted, and now so happy, thanks to your prayer. Since beginning O.F. in
1998, we have begun more orphanages, and helped thousands of street
children and poor children in many countries. Pray we can help millions.
Pray for finances for the new orphanage we're trying to establish in
St.Pete. Pray for laborers. Pray for administrative details, traveling
needs etc. Pray for the children specifically. And when your heart gets
cold because it is caught up in the details of life, stretch your
imagination and let God's Spirit remind you that the little victims are
really hurting. Our prayers can change lives.

In Heaven, we will rejoice together for the time we spent in
prayer,
        Thank you so much,
