Orphans First Prayer Requests Feb. 7th, 2002

Thank you, precious prayer friends, for your faithful supplications to the
Father,

What do you do when you meet a mother selling two of her children
in order to feed the rest of her family? This is but one of the dilemma's
Michel Ramillon found during his recent visit to Africa. So what do you
think we're doing? Answer: beginning an orphanage and having those two
kids be the first in it. Read on...........

On the homefront, FRANCE

Louis is home from his travels, and fever gone, thanks to your
prayers. (For those wishing to be better aquainted with my husband's work,
please read the paragraphs below signature line).
TEENS. - There has been a major onslaught on our teens. Please
pray for those being drawn away by the world, struggling with temptations
and unbelief.
CHILDREN - Some of you remember many months back, I wrote about a
children's TV documentary showing the history of sex in different cultures,
with full pornographic pictures to illustrate. This program was shown on
Channel M6 on a Tuesday (many kids don't have school on Wednesdays and
watch TV Tuesday nights). On the other channels were similar programs on
porn-queens and witches. Well, this Tuesday, M6 featured the history of
the Roman Empire. Their documentary included a section on orgies, with
pictures of dozens of people having sex together. Rembember: we're talking
about TV for kids. Your prayers are needed against this plague, and for
our children. (Note also that France and Belgium are both suffering
another plague: that of parents prostituting their own children to
pedophiles!!!).

INDIA

GOOD NEWS - Thanks to your specific prayers for the work in
Bombay since we first went there a few years back to get an orphanage for
street children off the ground, God has financially provided for the
overseeing church there in such a way that not only is it possible for
them to expand their orphanage, but the work there no longer needs our
support. A generous gift was given to cover these needs---again, thanks to
your prayers.
However, there is an URGENT NEED to pray for many of the children
we orgininally worked with who are still on the streets, or some even back
on the streets struggling to survive. I'm unable to be precise about
details so please don't ask, but just pray intensely for them. Remember:
India is a demonic country and Hinduism is a wicked religion. The devil is
not passive in his attempts to hurt children. And we know that if any
person also contributes to hurting them, God will deal severely in time
(see Mat. 18:5-13). We must overcome evil with good and outdo the devil's
efforts by fervently praying. I believe God will answer our prayers here
also.
Pray also that God would clearly show us if we should go take a
trip to India soon, and that He would open the door wide, and provide if
He wants a team of us to go at this time. Meanwhile, our orphanage in
Guntur is doing well and we continue to progressively pay off the building
there with view to expansion.

RUSSIA, UKRAINE, ALBANIA

Nothing new except that a real work with street childen has begun
in Albania which we continue to support. Continue praying for
St.Petersburg (Russia) and Odessa (Ukraine). Pray also we could begin
something with street children in Moscow. Some are as young as four.

AFRICA

Now back from Africa, Michel initiated new children's works in
both TOGO and BURKINO FASO (and help for our school in IVORY COAST). One
of the orphanages we're hoping to establish quickly sprung from the
terrible fact that a mother was selling two of her children. We plan, by
God's grace to provide for that family, and also begin our orphanage with
those two children. Please pray for sponsors, and for all the needs this
work entails.
A work with poor, unschooled children has also begun with our team
in MORROCCO. They will begin schooling some of this children, and we'll
continue helping with that project. Pray for them as there are risks in
this highly Muslim country.

O.F. NEEDS

Computer problems are slowly being solved (although I did lose some
files, but got addresses back). There may also be a provision for a
secretary for the the O.F. office in Baltimore (working with me via E
mail). Now pray we can get up-to-date with work as the past two months
computer problems have caused some major problems in my writing
responsibilities, website update and other details.

Your prayers work, and send demons fleeing....................
Please don't ever let up.

_______________________________________________________
Watching your kids become adults is a scary thing! As our
19-year-old finishes up her first year of Bible school, and prepares to fly
the coop, USA-bound, I'm reminded that France is the only "home" our
children have ever really known---even as American world-travelers. Twenty
years have flown by. And I stand in awe at the faithfulness of He who sent
us to this dark land-youthful and foolish as we were (the latter never
changed). Sent with a promise:
"And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; And
they will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you, For I
am with you." (Jer.15:20).
These past twenty years have indeed been a fight, ranging from the
immense struggle with the godless culture and the fight with the French
government. And yet, just like watching a child grow up, we have seen great
things. Things that seemed impossible to man. Things which only God could
have done.
Years ago, a missionary who'd been in France for 20 years at the
time, told us no-one could ever do anything significant here. Yet, to date,
our Theological Institute is among the largest in France, offering both
Bachelors and Masters degrees; our Christian Day school is one among a
handful; and one out of every six church-members has become a missionary,
helping establish the 16 missionary or daughter churches in several
countries. Now, with some encouraging breakthroughs with the French
government at last, and with a future move to a major city on the horizon,
we are again reminded that we're older, yes, but still small, and still
foolish. So how did all this happen? It happened because God is faithful.
Because people like you pray. And because God still chooses foolish people
to do crazy things for Him!
