Orphans First Prayer Requests May 16, 2001
**Don't forget the World-Wide Day of Prayer For Children At Risk (website
info. below).
Dear Prayer Friends,
IMMEDIATE NEED
I leave for Tennessee this Friday to join my husband who's
preaching there, and then to Baltimore for almost a week to take care of
the overwhelming administrative details resulting partly from an
overwhelming response to my FOTF article (see below). Please pray precisely
for the following;
*God's direction and provision for the future of Orphans First (i.e. all
helpers are volunteers, including me, but we're expanding and may need a
full-time admistrative, computer-competent secretary);
*Technical equipment i.e. better computer, a permanent 800 number etc.;
*PERSONAL needs - for God to cover our two children, Rachèle and Francesco
and Laticia (friend staying with kids) during my absence;
*That God would cover my trip, allowing me to catch each connecting plane
without problems as I travel standby. Just to get to Tennessee involves 3
plane rides. Each connecting plane is standby and I'll have luggage and be
alone.
*That missionaries working in third-world countries would sense the burden
and begin orphan's works;
*That we could provide a proper training course to train potential workers:
ORPHANAGES & CHILDREN'S WORKS
INDIA
With tears of joy I share the news that Bombay is expanding, and
we've taken in more boys and are looking to beginning a girl's home. Our
precious boys proudly received their FIRST academic diploma after living in
the Home since May.
Guntur is doing well, as kids finish up their school year. Continue
praying for all the needs in this precarious place.
ELSEWHERE
Keep praying for more permanent future works in Africa, in Jamaica,
and Russia, as well as for the children in the Ukraine. Pray also for
Albania.
FRANCE
Yesderday, I heard another story of small children who cry when
their nanny leaves at night because she has replaced the mother figure in
their lives. While the mother works and "plays", these small children are
left daily with a young girl, they eat anything, mostly sugar, and they
have such violent behavior that at four, one is seeing a psychologist.
Their outbursts of violence obviusly stem from their frustration from being
neglected, This situation is common in France where Christian values were
kicked out during the eighteenth century.
Continue praying for Christopher and other such deeply neglected
children.
As we fight for children, remember the combat for religious
liberty. The final decision for the law on Mental Manipulation will be made
at the end of May. This ambiguous law is based on loose criteria, leaving
the door open for subjective interpration as to what "mental manipulation"
means. Since our photo and names were plastered all over National TV as
being aligned with scientologists (who, by the way, are suspected of
infiltrating France to spy for the USA government), our high-school
children who receive the government correspondence course education have
been convoked to test their academic level. It has been suggested that the
mysterious echo we hear may mean our phones are being tapped. Why?
Because the government made a big mistake in accusing evangelicals of being
a cult, and probably don't appreciate that we refuse to remain silent and
passive while others like us are accused of "mental manipulation" for
praying for healing in their churches. We choose to PURSUE (1 Sam.30:6) and
defend human rights, openly speaking up in Washington and to the European
Parliament.
Please pray for this situation, and its repercussions on us. (If
you are new to this prayer chain, and have not followed the what's
happening in France, please don't write to me asking to explain.....I don't
have time to answer this question so maybe you can find out from news
sources. Sorry).
Most of all, pray for the millions of children still suffering.
Thanks for standing with me in the gap and praying for the dear
children everywhere,
Janey
