Orphans First Prayer Requests October 26th, 2001

FRANCE
        To my grief, I discovered there are 300 - 700 Clandestine children
living in the streets of Marseille, only a hour and a half from our home
here. This is not in India or Africa, but in France where socialism boasts
itself of providing for everyone.  Some children are as young as eight, and
all are mostly Moroccon or Algerian (this part of France is highly Arab). 
They live in prostitution, or theft, and all live in precarity.  In spite
of the fact that France has opened her doors to everyone, there is NO
STRUCTURE in France to take care of these children who come without their
parents.
        Pray God shows us what we can do.  Pray for Him to provide all we
could possibly need to provide a structure offering the children God's
love. Remember, we're praying against ancient strongholds, as Christianity
is not respected here, and these children are from Muslim backgrounds. It
will take much wisdom and many miracles for us to be able to begin a school
or home for these little ones. So, let's pray.

RUSSIA
        Pray special for the successful adoption THIS week of the 11 year
old boy in St. Pete.  I will keep you posted.  Court date tomorrow.
        Continue praying for a permanent future home for children with our
team there, and for continued help with desperately poor state orphanages.

INDIA
        No recent news..... We are very disappointed the events forced us
to cancel our trip.  Pray for all our children there, and that we can begin
yet another orphanage somewhere in India next year.

AFRICA
        Our church and Bible Institute here in France (ITN), of which my
husband is founder, are sending out a team to Morocco next month.  Pray for
them as the pioneer in a "precarious" situation.  And pray for open doors
for them to begin working with street children.

AMERICA
        Pray for orphans in America, especially older children waiting to
be adopted.  There are many more orphans since the NY event.

AFGHANISTAN and surroundings
        Pray for the children.  May God take them Home quickly.  Pray for
the people, that they would know Christ.

CHRISTMAS PROJECT 2001
        I'm pasting below a letter on our Christmas Project for this year. 
Feel free to copy the letter and pass on, put on school billboards or
whatever, to get people involved.  Or if you want a printed, letterhead
copy of the letter, let me know.

Dear Friend,

        Christmas will soon be here, and yet these are critical times.  All
around us is pain, and the threat of more pain.  I want to draw your
attention to some frequently neglected victims during such crisis times -
the suffering children of the world.  

        There are hundreds of millions of orphans, child-slaves, war-victim
children, abused children, street children, hungry, sick children
everywhere.  During crisis periods, they are quickly forgotten:  Any help
they may have been receiving is quickly withdrawn as people begin to panic
and look after their own interests.

        As Orphans First continues to support the children living in our
orphanages in India, Ukraine, Africa etc. we also again like to reach out
and provide a joyful Christmas for those we sponsor regularly as well as
other orphans and street children.  We recently sent a gift for a state
orphanage in St. Petersburg, Russia where 200 children live with no shoes,
rags for clothes, no soap and NO COVERS.  Our gift provided some soap and
useful items.  The children still have no shoes, nor covers.  We pray to be
able to do much more for them.  We also helped a couple adopt an older
child in St.Petersburg, but there are still millions unable to adopt
because of finances.

        By the same token, we plan to provide 3, 400 poor children in St.
Petersburg, Russia with Christmas gifts, food and a Christmas pantomime. 
We plan the same for children in the following countries:  Russia, Albania,
Ukraine, Africa, India and Romania.

        If you can do anything to help these children in any way, then
please don't wait as the needs are great and urgent.  I thank you with all
my heart for thinking of the children.  And please feel free to check out
