Orphans First Prayer Requests -- April 25th, 2006 Dear Prayer Family, Thanks for praying for the hurting children. Below are both PRAISE & PRAYER requests, both for our regular O.F. ministries and a new burden I'd like to share with you. ADOPTION UPDATE Today Nikita (the now 15 year old boy) has his adopting parents flying to Russia to see him! David & Joyce's dossier for Roman should be registered on May 10 so they expect to also go at the end of the month! And, another little boy, Tolig, also has his parents soon traveling for their first official visit! So, continue praying for Alexander, Sonia and the others waiting to have parents. Please pray for two Russian siblings who were adopted and may end up being separated into different adoptive homes. The older sibling hasn't adjusted to the adoptive family and continues a cycle of abuse toward the younger one. It is hoped that separating the children will allow both to heal and adjust. Please pray that God will provide the emotional strengthen needed for yet another change in what has been a difficult young life for the older child. Also for the younger one who is well-adjusted and happy in her new family, but has scars as the scapegoat for abuse in her family of origin. EUROPE -- Moscow, Russia -- continue praying for our street children and Alexandra. ASIA -- Guntur, India -- a few of our older girls will soon graduate. As Indian orphans and females, their lives are at risk unless they receive higher education. They need sponsors to be able to go to university or to learn a trade. Please pray God would raise up specific sponsors for them. Our friends in Calcutta do not need our help for their school for poor children, but they do appreciate our prayers. And please also pray for our friends in New Delhi -- and an upcoming ministry to AIDS children. AFRICA -- Ghana -- Friends in Ghana need support for some orphans in their care. Pray for new sponsors for these children. Ivory Coast -- Our friend, Pastor Emile, needs help with his Christian school. The children are impoverished and the government requirements for this school are steep. Pray we can raise sponsors for this specific work (when I was in France, we supported his work). America, LA -- street children. LA has many homeless people. Ironically, we now live near LA (God's choice, not ours). More of a paradox is that the Hollywood is nearby too, housing the richest people. Plz pray that God provides for the street children and if we're to be part of that solution, may He show us how. Upcoming Travels -- whirlwind trips Please pray for me as I teach a small workshop at the Colorado Christian Writer's Conference mid-May, while making contacts for O.F. and pursuing my call to write. I also need to hear from God on whether or not I am to attend the Write-to-Publish conference in Illinois in June (an opportunity is open to me). I just want to obey God. I'm also supposed to translate for a French friend's wedding late May in Florida, and my Dad wants to fly me to England for a family reunion in July. I need to conclude on dates that suit my family situation here as well as O.F. work.
