Dear Prayer Partners,

Here is the update from Joyce on the adoptions. Please continue praying for
Nikita, Sonia, Roman, Alexander etc.

I'm still away and appreciate your prayers for the rest of my trip --
particularly that GOD WOULD SHOW HIS WILL for the work in Haiti (in a predicament),
and our work in Moscow and in India.

Thanks for reading on.......

Janey: Here is the latest on the orphans who have been caught in the middle
of the public fervor against international adoptions in Russia:

At long last, Hand in Hand, received its renewed accreditation, almost a
full year after it expired. On February 13th the first families will have
their adoption dossier (the dossier contains all the necessary papers to
adopt a child) registered. The next wave of families will be registered on
February 27th. After the families are registered the children they plan to
adopt will be posted on a special website that is available for Russian
couples considering adoption. The children must be listed on this website
for one month. After that, the families wishing to adopt will be invited for
their first official visit. So, I expect families to begin going to Russia
in March. The only other difficulty is that the number of judges presiding
over adoption hearings has been reduced from 5 to 2. The children who are
caught in this legal nightmare are all 9 years old and up! Please keep the
children in your prayers, and that the adoptions move quickly. The waiting
time is very difficult for the families, but it is a genuine crisis for the
children who feel abandoned all over again! I will tell you that since I
wrote to you about the ONE child from the program last summer, Alexander,
whose family changed their minds, I have had several families contact me.
Even so, he is still unspoken for. So, please keep 12 year old Alexander in
your hearts and prayers. This white haired, blue eyed child needs a family as
much as the others do.
Most Sincerely,

Joyce Schaller

blessings,

Janey
