Dear Prayer Friends,

News from friends in Haiti who are looking into my orphanage is pretty
devastating. Thank God these friends are there to verify the situation and help
the most needy children for us until we come up with a solution. For a
solution, we need PRAYER. Haiti is a dangerous, dark country and we must tread
carefully. We cannot ask imprudently or rashly. We need:
God's wisdom, mega funds (we'll need to restructure the whole set-up to save
the children), and trustworthy, competent staff.

As you read the following report, please know that a friend recently sent
money to Haiti. And we're gathering more funds, by God's grace. But we do
need WISDOM because there needs to be better management of those funds. And the
children are very unhealthy so it will take time to build their health up.
"...I know that lack of funds mean not a lot of food, but many of these kids
are severely malnourished There are kids that they’ve had for over a year
that look emaciated...
One boy...Kensley 7 years old... is much smaller than my five year old son.
He seems to have chronic diarrhea and has been vomiting. He told me he has
had diarrhea for a very long time. He goes to the bathroom every 20
minutes. His arms are sticks, his belly is bloated and his underwear fall off his
bottom, he is so thin. Another child’s feet and face are swollen – called
wet malnourishment. These kids are suffering and something needs to be done
now.
Water is another key issue. Right now the children are drinking untreated
cistern water – known for causing worms and other problems.
Sorry if this sounds bleak but we trust that the Lord is in control and
loves these children more than we all do, for He is the Father to the fatherless.
Please keep in mind, things are getting better – even if it is one kid at a
time – but we need to remain diligent and fervently in prayer." Friends in
Haiti (names withheld to protect).
I'm asking for your prayers. Please pray as if these were your children.
Trusting Jesus for them,

Janey L. DeMeo
