Orphans First URGENT request – Aug.10th 05 Dear Prayer Partners, HAITI – urgent. I just received fresh news about our orphanage in Haiti and I’m deeply concerned. Apparently, we now have 57 children (things change fast because of the dangerous situation there which often means an increasing number of orphans). Of them, most are sickly and all are undernourished. One has a bad head injury. The good news is that God put a missionary couple in my path who are able to better identify the needs and were able to bring a nurse to the orphanage to better diagnose the medical needs (some of the medication they had in stock). However, there is an urgent need for more sponsors for this orphanage if the children are to receive correct food. And there is also need to hire someone to better budget the finances and distribute the food. This all requires divine intervention. Prayer can bring that in. Please pray for our orphanage in Haiti as follows: for the wellbeing of the children; wisdom; new onsite workers; removal of any workers who don’t love those children (& especially if there are any mistreating them, God forbid); sponsors for this orphanage; finances; God’s covering over the whole work. I was planning to visit there this year but for now it is still very, very dangerous. INDIA I finally heard back from my orphanage in India. There has been political/religious unrest in our area, danger. The children have also been sick, mostly with Malaria, and P. Samuel’s health is also weakening (he’s diabetic). Please continue keeping them in prayer. We have 110 children. TRANSITION & general details Pray for more sponsors especially during this time of transition.
