Orphans First prayer requests – June 16th, 05 Dear Prayer Partners, Today I felt my third earthquake over the past year. Worse still, this was the third shaking I felt THIS WEEK resulting from two distinctly different earthquakes (I didn’t feel the third, but there were 3 in California this week). Pray for God’s protection (I have all my O.F. work where I live). In spite of shaky surroundings, there are many answered prayers to thank God. BROCHURES First, just after I sent out the last prayer requests about the blurry brochures, the problem was solved. I now have new brochures, and hope that churches will agree to make these available to their congregations. Please pray for this. And, if you know of a church that might want brochures, find out how many and send me the details. (*Please continue praying for letterhead & cards to be completed, & for the new office transition). ADOPTIONS Next, regarding the different adoptions we’ve been praying for, some families are presently overseas in hopes of bringing home their adopted children within weeks. Keep them in prayer, especially the Josephs, Pekareks, Timms, 3 local couples here in S. California, & Shelly……….. Pray for needed finances for the Josephs adopting 2 Moldovan children (and that they’d manage to sell their van); also for Nikita’s adoption and trip to the USA this summer. We prayed for Emmy. Well, while I don’t have a specific update on her, we now need to also pray for the full adoption of two siblings to the same parental couple. Pray also for a special “hearing” on June 29th – for God’s intervention. OVERSEAS ASIA - India, Guntur - Recent reports say Christians are again being attacked, even killed, in Andhra Pradesh where Grace Home is situated. At present, I ’m not getting answers from the team there. Another cause of concern is the impending ill-health of P. Samuel who runs the orphanage. Pray. HAITI, PoP – We still lack funds for our orphanage. Pray for specific sponsors for these orphans in Haiti, and for their health, and for those running the orphanage. AFRICA - Burkina Faso – Pray for a family of orphans whose parents recently died of AIDS, and now Désiré is struggling to take care of them. Pray for this family. There is still serious unrest in Ivory Coast. More and more children are without parents. Pray for Emile, presently visiting USA: pray for our work with orphans there. Pray for other friends planning to leave for I.Coast again soon – for God’s will and direction. For the children in Ghana, and friends in Gabon. EUROPE - Pray for the street children in Moscow, Russia, and the children near Kalingrad who need a new water supply. Pray for the street children, and those in orphanages in Almaty, Kazakhstan and our ministry, “First Last”. Pray for our children in Poland – their adoption, finances, possible future move… N & S. AMERICA - Native Americans – When I was at the Colorado Christian Writer’s Conference in May, I was privileged to meet Darrell, a native American ministering in Redlake, an area rampant with suicide and other killings among young people. Pray for this community, its young people, Darrell, the Gibbs family… Pray for a children’s home in Brazil, for friends looking to begin this, and for O.F.’s part in it. Pray also for our local ministry to orphans in Mexico. And that God would show us how to be involved in helping the thousands of street children in L.A., San Diego and other nearby cities. Tragedies : Please pray for Austin. He has suffered 3rd degree burns on 35% of his body. He is undergoing his 2nd skid graft surgery today (6/7/05). His mother is a friend of mine. He needs prayer for healing and salvation. Also, please pray for his mother and family for strength and their salvation as well. God Bless! Jesus Saves!! Pray for suffering children everywhere—those suffering from hunger, cold, poverty, abuse, loneliness, fear, absence of love, divorce trauma…war victims etc. Pray for more Christians to adopt, for funds to facilitate their adoptions and for more foster families. Finally, pray for articles and books some of us are writing which communicate God’s heart for the children. Thank you so much for praying for the children, Janey L.
