Urgent Prayer Needed for Baby & Youth Caught in Tragic Situation March 15th 2005 – local news San Diego, CA Please hear this story and pray. As the sun was setting tonight in the S. Diego area, an 18-year-old mother was crossing the road with her 10-month-old baby in a stroller. She was struck by a car, pushing her baby aside to save her. The young mother died; the baby lived. Tragedy. But the story doesn’t stop here. The driver or the car that killed the girl was a 17-year-old youth. He was not on drugs, not under the influence of alcohol, and was not exceeding the speed limit. He was driving only 20 miles an hour, and driving cautiously. The problem was that the sun was setting causing a veritable blind-spot: he didn’t see the girl. The road the girl crossed was a normal road. The boy that drove the car that hit her was a normal, good kid. It was just the wrong time of day. The boy is devastated. I don’t know how this hits you but I’m the mother of a 17-year-old son. I imagine how that boy feels tonite. He drove carefully, responsibly and wham! A young girl dies. A baby is now an orphan. There are probably many relatives devastated. And who knows what will happen to the boy if they press charges. His life has just been destroyed. (And the baby is now an orphan). Can we pray for him. And the baby. And the girl’s family. And the boy’s family. Oh Father have mercy, give grace, dispense compassion for the children ’s sake. Somehow, God, turn this situation into something beautiful. Give a godly family to the baby. Help remaining relatives, soothe their heart. Comfort, console, minister to the boy, and his family. Do a miracle for him. Turn this tragedy into a miraculous, beautiful situation that ONLY YOU can do, God. Amen! Janey L.
