Orphans First Prayer Requests Jan. 29th, 2005 Dear Prayer Partners, URGENT NEED FROM CHINA From missionary friends working in China: “A lady in the hospital needs to pay the rest of her bill in order to be released and to have her baby released from the hospital. The hospital has been pushing her to sign papers to give him up for adoption because they thought she was going to die. They actually left her to die but the boss intervened mightily and she is looking quite well and is healing quickly. We are going to have them come live at our house until she is completely well and able to get back on her feet. The hospital is not even letting her see her baby except once a week and they won't let her hold him. When they bring him to her the nurse says,"Look Garbage Boy, your Mom doesn't want you. Your Mom doesn't love you. Your Dad doesn't want you. Your Mom smells bad. She can't take care of you. You are "Garbage Boy". I would like to take "Garbage Boy" out of the hospital so we can care for "Tian Ce" which means "gift from the Father" which is what his Mother named him. So, please lift up (pray for) this family. The hospital wants their money before February 9th.” Pray also for these missionary friends who sent this e-mail and who are helping with the TSUNAMI disaster in THAILAND. Other missionary friends who were also helping in Thailand saw an OPEN MISSIONFIELD. God used them to buy a women who had lost everything a brand new home. Pray as we seek to co-labor with these two different missionary teams in working with orphans and poor children. EMMY Some precious friends in California fostered baby Emmy since she was born with hopes to adopt her. The birth-mother is dysfunctional and a druggy (although she is presently less into drugs). Recently, a new social worker was assigned to Emmy’s case & decided to remove Emmy from the foster family & give her back to the birth mother. (NB—This is the social worker’s first assignment, & more money is given to the state when more children return to biological parents, thus social workers whose work brings this result are more easily promoted. Note also that the foster parents are Christian, and the biological mother & the social worker are not even open to the Gospel at all). Being separated from the only parents Emmy has ever really known is traumatic both foo her and the foster couple who plan to adopt several children. Please pray for Emmy, the adoptive parents & the birth mother. ADOPTIONS There are several Christian couples planning to adopt. Please pray for them. Some are adopting children from Moldavia (two older children), others from Russia, others from India & others from other countries. Please pray for the couples in detail: for their finances, the administrative details, strength, health, joy, favor in high places so that they bring these children home quickly. Pray for Nikita (& pray God inspires me as I write an article on him in a newspaper in hopes that it will result in his adoption). We need to pray for Pastor Samuel who has serious diabetes & whose health makes the running of the orphanage really difficult. AFRICA There is an urgent need to find sponsors for the Christian Day School in Ivory Coast. The government requires insurance money for the teachers and we have a large debt from last year. Please pray for the needed finances. HAITI Linda Kohn from 4-His-Glory Adoption Outreach visited our orphanage in Haiti. She kept repeating that the 42 children are beautiful, just beautiful, & desperately needy of more food & medical care. I hope to have photos on my website soon. Please pray for sponsors for this work also. O.F. General Needs Continue praying for the design of a new logo & brochure and the editing & updating of our website Continue praying also for the enlargement & restructuring of O.F. Missions Trip to France, Switzerland & Italy Thank you for praying. They are all back safely with many stories of souls won for Jesus. Our son was particularly used by God to reach young people (for those who’ve followed this prayer chain for a while, you’ll know this is a miracle).
