Brief frequest or August  7th, 2001

        The 11 year old boy, L*** who recently lost his 12 year older
brother through a fatal accident, needs much prayer.  Imagine how close
they were.  The deceased boy's birthday was a few days ago, and the wounds,
still fresh with pain, were rekindled in the hearts of all concerned.  The
youngest boy, only seven, is not as conscious of the tragedy, but the older
is deeply saddened.  Worse still, the mother already had a history of
severe depression, and is presently really in a bad way.  This, of course,
affects the children even more, and the already rocky marriage.  Now, my
prayer request is specific:

        The younger boy will be coming to spend time with his family
members here in our church tomorrow, so he'll be fine.  But the older boy
does not want to come, wants to cling to his depressed mother out of fear,
insecurity, and he is entering into a very morbid spirit of depression
beyond his years.  Please pray for a miracle, a change of heart in L*** to
the point that tomorrow, when the older cousin picks up the younger boy to
bring him here, pray L*** would desire to come, and would come.  If we get
him here, we can love him, invest in him, and really help him.  He'd be in
a healthy environment, and there are many Christian kids his age who he
could be with.  Only a MIRACLE will make him come so let's pray for that
miracle.  Let's pray hard, and I'll keep you posted......
