Orphans First Prayer Requests 22nd July  2004 
The National ADOPTION and FOSTER CARE RECRUITMEMENT  SUMMIT 
This summit was absolutely awesome and produced some staggering  statistics 
about US orphans needing to be adopted or fostered---thousands of  them!  The 
US government is  taking large steps to join the faith-based community and make 
the whole process  easier.  Pray for this effort and  for every organization 
and individual working on this.  Pray for ALL the orphans to get adopted  by 
Christians.  Pray for Christians  to sense the burden & act.  Pray  for 
churches to volunteer support and help so that adoption & fostering  becomes a church 
family effort, alleviating some of the burden from the  parents.   
Pray for me as I seek to network, get the word out and do whatever God  
wishes in order to help children get adopted.   
Staggering stats: One  lady working with an adoption agency told me that in 
many parts of the  USA, when children who are not  adopted reach 18, they are 
given some money & a list of homeless  shelters.  Within one year, 60 per  cent 
of these children end up incarcerated, and 65 per cent of the girls have a  
baby.  These teens need parental  figures.   
ADOPTIONS 
One of the greatest tragedies for a child is to see other children  adopted 
and to remain “unwanted” & alone.  Among the children coming over from  Russia 
in hopes of finding an adoptive family this summer, there was no family  
found for Nikita Yukashev, a very tall 13-year-old youth.  In tears, he  told the 
adoption coordinator: "I don’t understand why all my friends find  families, 
but not me."  She described him saying: "He was so sad, that  he seemed like he 
was just broken."   
But God touched the  hearts of one family—the parents of Artur, adopted from 
Russia--David & Joyce  Schaller.  They shared: “We have  decided that we want 
to bring him home!  We have already been told from  International Family 
Services that they will waive their fees. Now, it is just a  question of how much 
the fees in the country will be.”  Joyce needs about $  3000 for tickets to go 
over to Russia and bring him back.  Pray Orphans First can find funds to pay

GETTING THE WORD  OUT    
We  finally have our new DVD.  Pray we  can distribute it fast.  Pray also  
for the new brochure, STILL INCOMPLETE. 
INDIA, AFRICA,  EUROPE 
ALBANIA -  Pray especially for Eda in Albania.  She is suffering greatly from 
 discouragement and the overwhelming task before her, and she’s thinking of  
giving it all up.  Please pray.  And pray for the precious children she’s  
invested in. 
RUSSIA - Pray for the children coming to the USA this year from Russia  and 
surrounding countries---that all would find adoptive families.  Pray for the 
work with street children  in Moscow. 
AFRICA,  INDIA - Continue praying for  ALL our children's homes, and street 
children’s ministries throughout the  world.  Pray for our children in  Ghana, 
Africa (some  sponsors  are visiting our children there now), for the 
orphanage in  Burkina Faso, Africa, and for  Grace Home, India. 
ENGLAND,  FRANCE, ITALY 
Pray  for our trip to England,  France &  Italy next week.  My husband and I 
will be traveling  standby (again!) so pray for seats.  We plan to spend just 
two days with my family in England, then heading for France to teach  in 
Summer School at our Theological Institute. Pray for this time which is  usually 
rich with opportunities to invest in upcoming leaders and  disciples.  Pray it 
would be the  best year ever, and that we could finally sell the property to 
relocate.   
Pray for summer harvest trip to Italy where we will evangelize and  build up 
the people we’ve led to Christ there over the  years. 
Christian Day  School  We have an URGENT need for buildings and  all the 
structural elements to fall into place to begin our school this  fall.  The devil 
has done all he can  to prevent this happening.  Let’s  show him he cannot win 
by praying up a storm and watching God open a way for all  those children 
(especially high-schoolers) needing a Christian school NOW. 
Personal, Travels 
Because O.F. works in different time zones O.F. works in, I’m on the  e-mail 
at all hours of the day & night.  But we still have no e-mail access in  our 
new apartment.  Pray for us to  find a system that is both cheap a fast.   
Pray  for the many details surrounding next week's travels to Europe & 
especially for our son, Francesco, who will  stay with some friends.  Pray he would 
be discipled by older kids on fire  for God.  Pray also for our daughter  as 
she moves to join us this summer.
