Orphans First Prayer Requests June 28th - 2004 Dear Prayer Friend, There are so many orphans, and so many needs that situations confronting us often seem impossible. I receive many requests soliciting finances from people in different countries claiming to work with orphans. I hate saying “no” to anyone—especially because their request could be genuine. But without abundant finances, and without verifying the authenticity of the demand, we are often forced to decline. (Unfortunately, corruption exists, so we try to be prudent). Pray for God to give us wisdom and the means to reach more and more children. ADOPTIONS When Joyce Schaller sought my help a few years ago, I never dreamed of how much our prayers would accomplish. Not only did Artur get adopted, then Andrei & Lida, but so many more. The National ADOPTION and FOSTER CARE RECRUITMENT SUMMIT I have been invited as a delegate for this unprecedented event in Washington, DC on July 15th-17th with KEY leaders, including Steven Curtis Chapman and some government officials. Pray for this summit to change the lives of orphans. Pray for networking, for traveling details, and family details to fall into place, making this trip smooth and eternally fruitful. ADMINISTRATION, GROWTH TOOLS Pray for the brochure I’m presently working on with a friend from Las Vagas. Pray for God’s artistic guidance (neither of us is trained in graphics). Pray the brochures would be “perfect” & printed for the summit on July 15th. Pray also that I can slightly edit the DVD we made to facilitate broader distribution, resulting in increased global awareness of the children’s needs. HAITI Pray for a special feeding program we’ve helped in Haiti—that we could help more. I have also been solicited by another couple working with orphans in Haiti, and needing finances for the children’s schooling. This is a typical example of what I’ve mentioned above—I do not know these people, nor their work. My heart is to help every needy child possible, so pray God guides, and provides wherever needs are genuine. INDIA, AFRICA, EUROPE Continue praying for ALL our orphanages, street children’s ministries and children’s homes throughout the world. Pray especially for Grace Home in Guntur, India & Burkina Faso, Africa—requiring expansion and more funds. RUSSIA & surrounding countries. Pray for our orphan ministries throughout Russia, and surrounding areas including Kazakhstan, Tartastan, Siberia, Urkaine, etc. Pray especially for the work in Moscow, Russia where we plan to reach more children and expand. Pray again for God to guide us as different groups seek our help there. One girl, Alexandra, feeds the poor with her own money, and recently could only bring them apples for lack of funds. She has apparently moved a dozen times because the landlords were not happy that she gave a place to live for many homeless people. Pray we can PROVIDE for those hungry children she's reaching. Other Upcoming Travels & Important Events Lack of funding and a provision for our son prohibited me attending Convention, although my husband went. My O.F. presentation was replaced by a professional O.F. DVD, and my secretary Pam who spoke in my stead. It went well. It doesn’t look as if I’ll make the surprise party for my mother’s 70th birthday in England either. Pray I can at least visit her on the way to France late July, although my brother from Australia will no longer be there by then so I will miss him. I don’t understand why this is so, but I must trust God. Decisions depend on provisions, and God’s provisions are sometimes for a future time. After giving our lives on the mission-field for 22 years, we continue trusting God for a home and a sense of normalcy while we still live in dorm rooms. Pray for that these details would not hinder our effectiveness in what God has called us to do—and in my case for reaching the world’s needy children.
