Dear Prayer Friends,
I just finished reading the heartwrenching, true story: "The Lost Boy";
sequel to "A Child Called It", by David Pelzer. I highly recommend both these
books. You won't ever be the same, and hopefully neither will our prayer
lives. This autobiography portrays the terrible plights of a foster boy who has
suffered trauma beyond the imagination. It opens our eyes to the fears foster
children face. Please pray for foster children, for God to raise up Christian
foster parents, and for children to be adopted by Christians like never before.
I believe God is also leading me into an arena of working more with
adoptions, and hopefully with foster families too. Pray for that.
God's timing in my reading that book is stunning. Ironically, while
reading the story, I could empathize with the heartfelt insecurity of a foster
child as God has had us moving and living in suitcases in different places for
two months now. But I do believe that season is coming to an end, and covet
your prayers so that the pieces of the puzzle would all fit together and we can
be exactly where God would have us. The elements needing to totally concord
are: our son's schooling, our daughter's future, our outreach at different
times to leaders in DC, the expansion of O.F., the expansion of our missions work
and investments in those who will take the Gospel far, and our work with
religious liberty. On a practical level, we need a home.
As my husband preaches at a Missions Conference here in Southern
California to some 500 pastors, and missionaries, and as I am able to share about
Orphans First , and teach women, we are trusting God for clarity. Please pray
for the many contacts I am making for the orphans. And pray I can meet David
Pelzer and see how we can better impact foster families.
I have many more stories to share with you about the suffering children,
and I will also give an final update of our Christmas Project. Meanwhile, my
heart is burdened for the children everywhere. Please continue praying for
needy children, including foster children. May God raise up more Christians to
foster and adopt children in these dark times.
In Christ,
