Jon, some matters are not just about "healing" per se. In a bible example of Jesus healing a man with a speech problem: Mark 7:32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. Mark 7:33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; Mark 7:34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. Mark 7:35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. The point being that a spiritual "operation" had to take place before the "string of his tongue" was loosed. James 5:14 is about healing. But, that doesn't answer every need. So, James 5:16 talks further about deliverance. A man of faith and knowledge, understanding such things, is needed to bring your answer. Whether some people like to acknowlege it or not, deliverance is the Children's bread. Mt 15:26. And spirits do trouble Christians. It's not necessarily a matter of sin. And it is certainly not a matter of God "hating you". The fact remains that your tongue is bound. And, in my opinion, until the troubled, and troubling spirit is dealt with your tongue will not be free. Jesus dealt continually with the spiritual realm in order to "heal" mankind.
