I'm not sure about protocol with messages on this list. But as a new =
subscriber to this listserv, I've been disappointed to see such a =
negative tone emerge. I'm confused in part since I've not seen the =
testimonies in question. I'm now wondering whether this listserve is =
moderated by or run by Brother Dacre? I subscribed a number of weeks =
ago, and didn't get any messages for a long time till this last =
"discussion" started.

I also subscribed in hopes of hearing current healing testimonies. I am =
saddened that Sister Dechon hasn't seen the healing power of God =
manifested. But it is happening all over the U.S. and the world. There =
are many churches where the leadership doesn't believe that the =
miraculous is for today and, generally, a person won't find the power of =
God displayed in those places.

But I've heard hundreds of genuine healing testimonies during my =
Christian life and in some cases been an eyewitness. I'm sure I've also =
heard at least 25 credible accounts of people being raised from the dead =
from various parts of the world. One American man who had been brain =
dead 5 days but was raised through the prayers of his wife (whose =
testimony was broadcast on at least two TV shows) came to our church =
this year.=20

The Word clearly teaches that healing is included in the atonement and =
we are encouraged to believe for it. Even if no one had gotten healed in =
our nation or generation, the scriptures are full of God's healing =
provision for our physical bodies and we therefore know healing is real =
and the promises are true.

As for brother Dacre's saying he heals the sick, I do not know the =
brother or his integrety. But there is a scriptural precedent that Jesus =
told his disciples "heal the sick, raise the dead." I'm at work, so I =
cannot look up references right now. But both Jesus and the believers in =
the book of Acts ministered healing to the people. For example, "In the =
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." This was not a =
"prayer," but a command to the man at the gate Beautiful, a God-inspired =
and empowered word Peter and John gave the man in order to ignite his =
faith and action, enabling him to receive the healing power of God and =
walk again. We know and understand that God is the only one who heals, =
but as co-laborers with God, he tells us to go out and heal the sick.

I've benefited from a couple of books: Christ the Healer by F.F. =
Bosworth and Healing the Sick by T.L. Osborne. Both present a strong =
case that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever where =
healing is concerned. Both are chock full of scriptures and sound =
doctrine. Both share a number of inspiring testimonies. John G. Lake's =
writing is also wonderful along this line.
