A Testimony of Raising of the Dead from Southern Ethiopia The area is ConsulKarate, Kafe Shawnee region. The man involved was Berhanu from Awasa. Pastor Worku and some others whilst praying for three days got the impression from the Lord that someone should go to a region in the very southern region of Ethiopia where people had not even heard the gospel before. The Lord kept repeating this inside of them and so they asked who felt led to go. Berhanu raised his hands and said "here I am Lord send me" When he arrived in this remote region he went about declaring that Jesus was saviour and that Jesus was Lord. The people in this region are very warlike and kill strangers. Anyway he managed to get a room to stay at nights and went about preaching that Jesus can do anything during the day time. One night a group of men burst in through the door of his room, armed with knives and axes. They demanded that if this Jesus had the power that Berhanu said he had then he should come immediately and raise the dead wife of one of the men. If he didn't they would kill him for telling lies. This sent great fear into Behranu's heart and he cried out to God. He said "lord I have done all that you asked and now I am going to die for nothing" They took him to the dead body. He began to pray for the lady. He prayed and prayed and then noticed that they were not guarding him as before and so he escaped and ran away. He was full of fear and panicking. However the villagers ran after him. When they caught him they said to him, "why are you running away the women you prayed rose up and is perfectly well now" The whole village worshipped the Lord that day! This happened in June 1997 as far as can be determined because the calendar in Ethiopia is different. There is no church in this region but one day they plan to start one.
