But this is a last opportunity to save our son Sasha. There is a great distress in our family. My three-year old son is sick with leukemia. He got sick because of fault of people who do not think about consequences of their mistakes, which could make other people unhappy. This terrible decease occurred because of radiation to which was subjected population of our town. About а year ago we lived in Tula region, not far from the place where the radio chemical plant for production of bomb plutonium is located. As a result of an accident, there was a radioactive leakage. We were reassured that there was no great danger and gamma-radiation background didn't exceed the allowable level. However later, mass media gave an information that most part of the population got internal radiation due to using river water for drinking and cooking. Level of Strontium and Cesium exceeded the allowable level. Several months later Sasha started feeling bad, he lost appetite saying that he had got stomach ache. My wife and I didn't understand what was going on and we decided to visit a doctor. It was very hard to learn the truth and I wouldn't advise anybody to be in my place at that moment. The diagnosis was terrible - "acute myeloblastic leukemia". Sasha was subjected to 5 courses of polychemical therapy and doctors managed to achieve remission. We moved to anothe r city - Kaliningrad in order to be far from that dangerous place. We hoped that we had left behind the most terrible things. But in June this year Sasha again started feeling bad, the recrudescence of the illness came back. Our doctor explained us that with such a form of leukemia we shouldn't try to achieve another remission, it is necessary to perform entire operational allogenic transplantation of medulla. Otherwise we may lose our little boy. This operation costs USD 35 000. I’m school teacher and for me it's an enormous sum. I approached the local administration and management of the radio chemical plant for help but they refused me referring to lack of funds. Owing to some charitable and commercial organizations and also relatives and friends, we managed to get only USD 3500 because in Russia there is a crisis and people think about themselves in the first turn. I have an apartment and after I sell it I will need to collect another USD 12 000. This sum would save our son. I was in despair because I didn't know where to get this money. But my friends gave me a hope by advising to ask Internet users for help and they themselves are undertaking all technical issues.
