Thank you for your comments on my query. I should say that I have no 
particularly formed understanding of the healing process, but your 
comments have stimulated me somewhat.
In reply to why acts of power and there being no reason to be 
attached to Jesus as opposed to any other, I think that the point of 
Jesus' healing is that he heals the whole person. This means 
spiritually and physically. This is wholistic medicine. While others 
did heal physically, Jesus added a dimension to the situation. Thus 
his injunction to sin no more lest something worse happen.
It does occur to me more and more that documentation is an absolute 
necessity in all cases of healing in order that a defence may be 
made, and also for verification.
