Dear brothers and sisters,
The passage in James 5 clearly indicates the power of prayer. The
prayer of the righteous will heal the afflicted (KJV). For sickness
the anointing and presence of elders is directed. This is
foreshadowed by the practice of Jesus healing the sick (surely the
elder of elders in a spiritual sense). Also in Mark 6, the disciples
heal the sick using the anointing of oil. They may be considered
elders also. While I do try to avoid my innate tendency to legalism,
I do also strive to understand the principles behind the healing
procedure. Hence my search for objective assessment of healing as
practiced today.
Healing is an act of power and was duplicated by those were not
followers of Christ. Itinerant rabbis and others made it their lifes'
work before and after Christ's earthly physical presence.
If anyone has any further insights and practical experience it would
be helpful in my pilgrimage and ministry. Thanks to you all.

Colin
