Interesting Philip, but hardly scriptural. Jesus cast out the spirits with his word. You spoke no words to the spirit. The anointing abides within. You waited for the anointing to fall on your head. Spirits are cast in Jesus' name. You said nothing to the spirit in Jesus' name. I believe that if we get away from scripture we risk the chance of allowing "another spirit" to operate. Mat 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 2 Cor 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Cor 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. I think this unscriptural dealing is confusing to others who are trying to understand scriptural ways of dealing with spiritual forces. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 1 Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
