Healing was part and parcel of the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. It was also something that Jesus advocated his disciples to do. He never set out His disciples, on ministry work, without telling them to heal. Divine healing is healing by the power of the Holy Spirit released by the faith of those who operate in it.
 
Jesus was the Healer and asked us to follow His example. In lifestyles, nature, godliness, and in ministry. The only ministry of our Christ we cannot emulate it the ministry of the Lamb of God. No one can follow this ministry because there was only need for one Lamb of God. One sacrifice for sins. However scripture tells us to follow His example of suffering. 1 Peter4:1
 
Healing of the human body was part and parcel of the ministry of Jesus Christ and His followers. God is interested in healing the human body as well as the rest of him.
 
SO then this is a valid ministry of the priesthood of the followers of Jesus Christ. It is mentioned as a ministry gift and as a spiritual gift. in 1 Corinthians 12.
 
7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:.....to another gifts of healings by the same[b] Spirit
 
Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healings
 
 
Even the raising of the dead is advocated by Jesus for his followers to operate in it.
 
 
Matthew 10:8

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,   cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give
 
 
On sending out his followers, including Stephen who was not an apostle, but a believer, Jesus expected them to follow His ministry of healing. Today nothing has changed. This ministry is still very much a part of the body of Christ.
