I have a close friend from work who lost her son when he was 18 years old. She loved this son with all her heart and his departure was sudden, abrupt and very hurtful for her. She had some texts on her mobile phone from him just before he died and treasured these as her last contact with her son in the land of the living. She would read these often and be a little consoled at his passing. On her son's 21st birthday, or what would have been his birthday, she had her mobile phone on her kitchen table whilst cleaning in the lounge. Earlier she had seen a young man close by her house, a stranger. When she came back to her kitchen her mobile was gone. Stolen , obviously by the young man. She was distraught beyond belief and when I phoned her later, she could not even speak. Inchorently she mumbling things so that in the end I came to understand, through the tears and hysteria , what had happened to my friend Elaine. Elaine, I said, I believe in God. That He is good God and can help you with this very situation. I am going to ask him right now to convict that young man and get him to return that mobile to you promptly!" "Never!", said Elaine. "It wont work, just wont!" "Oh what am I going to do" "Just lie down Elaine and try and calm yourself now, I am trusting God to do what I have asked Him now" But Elain couldn't relax and sought out her sister to go looking around the streets to try and find her mobile. This she did with her sister but all to no avail. She returned broken-hearted to her home once more. She was not a believer and so could not turn to the word of God. About three hours later I got another hysterical call from Elaine. During this time I was working at work but my heart was before the Lord. "Oh God do it for her, " I was asking all the time. Now she phoned again hysterical once more. "What is it Elaine?" I asked concerned. "Oh" she said laughing hysterically this time, "You must have good connection above. About a few minutes back a young (the one I had seen earlier) came to the door and when I opened it he said, "Now don’t say anything, I don’t want to talk, but I took your mobile earlier and I am returning it now. I was very wrong and I am sorry", and with that he turned around and promptly walked away." "It's back", Elaine said, "I've checked and all those texts are right there on it!" Isn't God good? ===== Pastorphil http://www.faithministries.org.uk/ "All Things are Possible, Only Believe!"
