This past weekend, I was looking through some photos my brother-in-law took, later to be surprised that they were printed on an inkjet! The Canon i850. I read some reviews (a lot) and the i850 stands out as the best printer anywhere wildly near its price range, even today (1 year ofter its release). The i850 has just been superceded by the i860, which weighs more than twice as much, costs the same, prints marginally faster, and seems to have ink cartridges that currently cost 2-3 times as much (not compatible with the i850!) The i850 requires a special Cups driver, TurboPrint, to work with Linux. I have not tested this myself. It will be interesting to see if this year's Christmas printer selection offers anything to top the i850/860 in its $120-$150 price range.
